A melodic shard Across the universe A temporal spark Fires the engine room An harmonic shift In the celestial plane At the speed of light At the speed of sound We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving Falling, out of control In the centre of it all A holy choir sings Beauty abounds A pastoral aura forms So magnificent and free And infinite beyond belief A tonal splash A psychic call Down a rabbit hole Reach the motherlode A radiant glow Strike the magic chord Cymbals crash Horns blow We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving We are receiving

Tumbling through This brick Red sky Slicing up The clouds Slicing up The clouds Boarding pass Near whiskey Sour Slicing up The clouds Slicing up The clouds Ocean view No horizon Found Slicing up The clouds Slicing up The clouds It's surreal Man A big fish bowl and Whipped through The eye of hurricane Whipped through The eye of hurricane Of a hurricane Of a hurricane Plummeting through Thick Black smoke Slicing up The clouds Slicing up The clouds Luggage crashing Down the Aisle Slicing up The clouds Slicing up The clouds Panicked White knuckled Down... Slicing up The clouds Slicing up The clouds Did she need me? Did she love me? Did she want me? Did she... It's surreal Man A big fish bowl and Whipped through The eye of hurricane Whipped through The eye of hurricane Of a hurricane Of a hurricane

The chalice, the blade Eternal battles The blood of Our ancestors The ties To the past I'll take you On a journey Through unsettled Histories As the planets Collide and we Rest for awhile The genetic fabric The consequences of fate Our worth Is measured by What we give Not take In past lives Or reincarnated futures Slipping back and forth Time Is elastic I'll take you On a journey Through unsettled Histories As the planets Collide and we Rest for awhile I'll take you On a journey Through unsettled Histories As the planets Collide and we Rest for awhile I'll take you On a journey Through unsettled Histories As the planets Collide and we Rest for awhile I'll take you On a journey Through unsettled Histories As the planets Collide and we Rest for awhile I'll take you On a journey Through unsettled Histories As the planets Collide and we Rest for awhile I'll take you On a journey Through unsettled Histories As the planets Collide and we Rest for awhile

When it all Just comes Crashing down It was held By a thread Nothing is easy Life is like that When the Final curtain Unfurls On the stage I’m hearing A sweet requiem The angels Would sing So long for Now ‘til we meet Again I’m right by Your side One step behind One step behind How do you Measure The worth of A man? Does anything Last Once your Dust in the wind? There are remnants And memories Photos and letters Bright as a sunrise Dark as an eclipse So long for Now ‘til we meet Again I’m right by Your side One step behind So long for Now ‘til we meet Again I’m right by Your side One step behind One step behind

"Please no soliciting here" We made up the rule After several pints Of beer In the Staggering dark And "Please no sympathy here" It's not written down They know it by rote And ignore it just The same But they don't come Knocking anymore Thick dust in the yard Cakes the old Blue Ford They don't come Knocking anymore Years of neglect Peeled paint Off the bright Wooden door "Please no violence here" The gangs rule With iron fists Where the children Once played in Our streets And "Please no excuses here" They rained down so long They poisoned our wells The parade left Our town For good But they don't come Knocking anymore Thick dust in the yard Cakes the old Blue Ford They don't come Knocking anymore Years of neglect Peeled paint Off the bright Wooden door Off the bright Wooden door Off the bright Wooden door

It accumulates And multiplies Reverberates through Our lives Decisions that We take In the blinking Of an eye We're falling Down Stumbling around Diggin' a brief Foothold Traumas That we face Marks we Can't erase No one ever Said this Would be easy We're hurtling Headlong into The dark No one ever Said this Would be easy It's bloody cold And lonely In a crowd Centrifuge Spinning fast Relationships Don't seem to last We're blessed And we're cursed From bad to worse In country markets Or urban sprawl We rarely can Escape at all It's slipping Through our hands Fetid dust and sand No one ever Said this Would be easy We're hurtling Headlong into The dark No one ever Said this Would be easy It's bloody cold And lonely In a crowd No one ever Said this Would be easy We're hurtling Headlong into The dark No one ever Said this Would be easy It's bloody cold And lonely In a crowd

I was really Something Before I met You Fast cars Fine wines In 1962 I was really Hot When I made Love Back then Now I’m faking Borrowed Moves Like other Old men Uptown or downtown I’ve lived In hovels And brownstones That was then This is now Holy cow That was then This is now Holy cow I was really Primed To make Bells chime Now I’m living Hand to mouth On my Last dime I was really Special Before Electricity I was a smooth Operator Living in The city Uptown or downtown I’ve lived In hovels And brownstones That was then This is now Holy cow That was then This is now Holy cow I was smoking Reefers like There was No tomorrow Now I drink Jack Daniel’s To drown My sorrows Uptown or downtown I’ve lived In hovels And brownstones That was then This is now Holy cow (x 2)

Echoes 03:41
We don't understand What you're saying Is that some foreign Language? Or are you Speaking in tongues? We can't relate To where you're praying It's not consecrated ground It seems so Unholy It echoes Through the land It echoes across the sky It echoes around the globe No one's deciphering The code It echoes Through the land It echoes across the sky It echoes around the globe No one's deciphering The code We don't like The clothes you're wearing Is that a crown or a shroud? Won't you follow The crowd Like the rest? We don't like The flag you're waving Its colours are unknown Will it bring violence To our homes And our schools? When all looks Hopeless send The envoy in We need more Diplomacy Don't let the Hawks win Many are bred For hatred Not able to discern That a crying baby Is the same Everywhere It echoes Through the land It echoes across the sky It echoes around the globe No one's deciphering The code It echoes Through the land It echoes across the sky It echoes around the globe No one's deciphering The code

The News 07:30
It twists and turns In the wind Cigarette burns On the carpet Upstairs Can't be Hidden along with Your sins It howls like A wolf In the woods Lip-stick marks On coffee cups Tossed in the kitchen Sink I'm getting The picture I'm hearing The news Broadcast in Stereo With technicolour Hues I'm getting The picture I'm hearing The news Broadcast in Stereo With technicolour Hues It rests Like a corpse In the morgue Books have Been moved On that shelf In the den Near the Grandfather Clock It's frayed like A live wire Someone's moved That old rocking Chair Where we once Made love by The fire I'm getting The picture I'm hearing The news Broadcast in Stereo With technicolour Hues I'm getting The picture I'm hearing The news Broadcast in Stereo With technicolour Hues

And after the Smoke clears The balloons And the clowns Leave We're left With remorse And regrets A circle of Faces Spinning ever So quickly They arrive And disappear Off the map An old man on A park bench Surrounded By pigeons Why does he Look so bereft? I didn't Figure it out Until it was too Late I was never Equipped for The ride I always counted On you to carry Me through I'm cold and Weary to the core I walked by The river Heard the Laughter of Children They were throwing Bread for Some geese I know this City like The back of My hand now Its dank corners Its stark truths I didn't Figure it out Until it was too Late I was never Equipped for The ride I always counted On you to carry Me through I'm cold and Weary to the core

I recall when your melodies Sounded so fresh When you played it Like you meant it And they always Demanded more Before they left I remember hearing The invention and the verve The way you bent notes On a gorgeous, Celestial curve Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Or is that merely A sad distortion Of who you once Were? We listened to Your records after dark They beguiled us And gave us the fire And the spark Your voice could make Us cry You moved with ease From an anguished scream To a tranquil lullaby To a tranquil lullaby Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Or is that merely A sad distortion Of who you once Were? Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Is the mirror Reflecting you now? Or is that merely A sad distortion Of who you once Were?

The sacred earth The sacred valley Lush green mountains Masters of the Spirit realm Standing on The threshold Between life And death All creation Mysteries unfold You came to me With open heart You came to me With outstretched hands Enfolding great love Enfolding great love On retreat Sitting in the dark Wait patiently For what is To come Soaring visions Unsettling dreams By the river Eyes closed Eyes open Nothing as It seems You came to me With open heart You came to me With outstretched hands Enfolding great love Enfolding great love You came to me With open heart You came to me With outstretched hands Enfolding great love Enfolding great love The sacred earth The sacred valley Lush green mountains Masters of the Spirit realm Standing on The threshold Between life And death All creation Mysteries unfold You came to me With open heart You came to me With outstretched hands Enfolding great love Enfolding great love

The elements Of reason Gathering sense From the abyss There are Special moments We're bound To miss I was searching Because of you I was found There is Beauty on This earth Heavenly And profound Pick me up With song It won't be long Pick me up With song It won't be long From now My dear From now My dear From now My dear Concrete jungle Asphalt and tar Everyone lost Right where We are Celebrated triumphs Calculated risks Your song calling me Reminding me There is more Than this Pick me up With song It won't be long Pick me up With song It won't be long From now My dear From now My dear From now My dear
